In this series I will be looking at how to infuse more kindness into the workplace.

Last month the question was, “How can I bring more kindness into the workplace?” We started big picture, and I shared The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation as a resource for thinking about the kindness strategy in your workplace. A kindness “strategy” might sound funny… but we have strategies for everything else… why not kindness?!

This month, our focus on Self-Care. Kindness in the workplace, starts with kindness towards ourselves.

I’d like you to ask yourself this question, “What routines do I have in place to take care of ME?”

You might come up with things like:

  • I get to bed at a reasonable time so that I’m well rested.
  • I wake up early enough to start the day on my terms.
  • I take time for physical fitness.
  • I meditate daily.
  • I take a news break when I need to.
  • I take a social media break when I need to.
  • I have a hobby that brings me joy.
